Let These Girl Bosses Show You How to Slay on Instagram

Must read

We all use social media for different reasons. Some for personal use—as a place to store memories and flaunt the moments and things they are most proud of. Some are on it for the sole purpose of building their business—to showcase their best work and let people know about the stuff that they are selling. And then there are those who think of it as a tool that they can use to rally support for the causes they believe in.

Of course, there are also individuals who use social platforms for two or more reasons.

Regardless of purpose, everyone can agree that it’s always nice when people appreciate whatever you put out there—especially on Instagram where the audience tends to be more sophisticated, in general. The hearts, views, and comments saying how much your content has inspired others, it’s enough to keep you going.

Let’s look at four successful women entrepreneurs who are getting much-deserved attention on Instagram and see what exactly it is about their brand and content that’s driving all the engagement.

1.     Heather DeSantis

The CEO of Publicity for Good, a purpose-driven public relations agency, Heather DeSantis’ Instagram account is a gold mine of information for anyone who wants to know more about PR and how certain parts of its ecosystem function. She’s very generous when it comes to sharing knowledge, which a lot of her followers really appreciate. She’s also very positive and oftentimes posts reminders to her followers to keep chasing their dreams and to always try to find a silver lining no matter how gloomy the situation may seem.

DeSantis is also very vocal about her and her fiancé’s chosen lifestyle—the two are traveling all over the U.S. in search of the perfect piece of land that they can turn into their very own farm before their wedding. Living and working in an AirStream surely has its fair share of pros and cons, but they are able to make it work.

What she’s doing right:

While it seems like Heather uses her IG primarily for business, she does not let that get in the way of letting her personality shine through. This is very crucial for brands and personalities who represent brands. It’s never a bad idea to remind people of what makes your product or brand good, but never let that objective detach you from who you are. At the end of the day, people will want to work and buy from people who they can relate to and they are comfortable speaking with on a person to person basis.

2.     Leslie Lee

She’s a beauty guru, registered nurse, and an entrepreneur all rolled into one. She founded Liv and WYLD, a monthly subscription box that provides consumers with premium, medical-grade skincare products because she wants to help people become more confident in their own skin regardless of age and color.

Leslie Lee’s IG account is essentially a catalog for relevant positive thoughts that is very much aligned with her brand. Her posts center around the idea of helping others become believers of themselves and all the great things they can accomplish if they work hard enough for it. She also provides beauty tips here and there.

What she’s doing right:

Throughout her entire feed, Leslie is true to her brand. Regardless if she’s uploading a video or a static image with positive quotes, whatever she puts out there is a reflection of her and her brand’s core belief. She also makes sure that she delivers her message as straightforward as she can, which works well for people in the beauty industry.

3.     Emily Vavra

Emily Vavra is not only one of the most prominent names in the Network Marketing industry today, but she’s also one of Yahoo’s Top 10 Entrepreneurs to Follow in 2020. Smart, beautiful, eloquent, she believes that success can be achieved if you work hard and keep yourself open to trying out new things and learning new stuff.

Her IG feed is a reflection of what one can achieve if they put in the work to achieve their dreams. She likes to encourage her followers to let go of negative thoughts and to focus on improving themselves—that progress, no matter how big or small, is still progress.

What she’s doing right:

Emily puts a lot of thought into her content, and it really shows. From the lighting, her look, even her background, she knows that all these elements play an important role in getting your message across. Her captions are also always very well-written. She shares knowledge about her trade and also likes to inspire people to take care of their bodies and minds.

4. Jamie King

Also known as the Slay Coach or The Purple Entrepreneur, Jamie King founded The Slay Coach back in 2017 after making it to the top .5% of the Network Marketing company she works for. Prior to becoming a serial entrepreneur and an internationally renowned female leader, she worked with executives and managers of Fortune 75 company, Humana, and trained and taught over 500 people to become better leaders through leadership development programs.

On Instagram, she maintains the same persona and likes to empower people by showing them that they can always do better regardless of their current situation. She often times relates her personal struggles with that of her followers and explains to them how they can rise above it.

What she’s doing right:

Jamie knows that her purple hair makes her stand out from other top business influencers on Instagram. And she’s embraced this so much that she makes sure most of her posts show a prevalence of the color. Now her followers can’t help but think of her whenever they see this shade.
