Looking for delicious and Instagram-worthy food you can make while you’re hunkered down at home? We got you!

Being on quarantine for a couple of weeks now, we’re pretty sure there have been times when you find yourself looking for things to do. And while Netflix and Amazon TV have been awesome companions so far, nothing quite beats activities that use both muscles and brain, like cooking tasty food that’s also nice to look at!

Fortunately, some of our favorite social media influencers have posting loads of easy-to-follow recipes that easily become trending food items. We’ve gathered five of them here for your easy browsing.

Banana Bread

We don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but everyone seems to have gotten into baking since the shelter in place order was announced. And everyone’s favorite item to bake? Banana bread. And why not? Not only is it super easy to make, it’s also really yummy. You can customize your banana bread according to your liking. You can add walnuts or cereals for a bit of crunch or throw in chocolate chips for added sweetness. You can even create a marble effect with peanut butter. Newton Nguyen who is more popularly known as @milktpapi on his social accounts did his own take on banana bread with chopped chocolate pieces.

Souffle Pancakes

These are not your traditional pancake. They’re its fluffier and jigglier Japanese cousin. They’re also lighter, more photogenic, and go well with fresh fruits. And all you have to do to make them is to make little tweaks to your usual pancake recipe. Emma Fontanella, who is not only a popular YouTube star, but also a professional pastry chef and recipe developer posted how she does hers here.

Potato Galette

If you like hash browns, this one’s for you. Potato Galette is a traditional French recipe that got a bit of spotlight when social media star and professional chef, Shereen Pavlides, posted it on her TikTok account. The post has since gotten over 15M views and 2.9M heart reactions, and for good reasons—it looks hella amazing and the way she makes her videos is very entertaining.

Steak

Because of the fact that it’s very pricey, cooking steak has intimidated a lot of people for a very long time, which is probably why everyone’s cooking them at home now that they’ve discovered just how easy it is to make. Rich Brian shows us how he likes his steak prepared in this video that went viral not too long ago.

Fusion Pasta

Being at home gives many of us time to discover new things, including the wonders of food that bring together flavors from different cultures. One seemingly favorite of many, is fusion pasta, which basically takes traditional Italian pasta and dresses it in sauces that have been influenced by Asian culture. Marion Grasby, an Australian-born chef, has been posting videos of such recipes that are getting much attention on social media. Check out one of our favorites, her garlic prawn spaghetti, in this link.
